(Thanks to Sensei Daniel and Isabella from GKR Karate Region 2 in Sydney for demonstrating how they cast their device to the television for their home training - Great work!)

If you're currently viewing the Online Dojo on your mobile device you will be pleased to know that there are a number of ways you can get your phone, tablet or computer to display onto a larger screen for easy viewing!

See the below list for the various options, and if your option isn't listed, please let us know and we will add it to the list!

Cabled Options

Laptop, Computer via HDMI

If you have an HDMI input on your TV and computer, you can use an HDMI cable to connect your computer directly to your TV to mirror your screen.

HDMI cables can be purchased starting from around $10 from most stores, including supermarkets.

Mobile Devices/Tablets etc

There are many affordable phone to HDMI cable options available .These offer a plug and play option directly from your phone to your TV.

Devices with Web Browsers

(Such as smart TVs, games consoles etc)

  1. Go to the web browser on your device
  2. Visit onlinedojo.gkrkarate.com
  3. Log in as normal

Tip: Bookmark the page so you don’t need to type the web address again

Wireless Casting Options

Apple TV

  1. Open the Control Centre on your Apple Device
  2. Tap “Screen Mirroring” and select your Apple TV
  3. Navigate back to the Online Dojo

Chromecast

Chromecast is a dongle for your television, connecting to the TV's HDMI port to add smart functions to your TV, like Netflix streaming. Chromecast connects to your home wifi network and can then be controlled with your smartphone.

This is a reasonably affordable ($50 - $100) solution for casting anything to your TV.

Chromecast from Computer

  1. Make sure your Chromecast device is plugged in and connected to the same network as your computer
  2. Open Google Chrome
  3. Visit onlinedojo.gkrkarate.com
  4. Click the 3 dots in the top right corner of your web browser
  5. Click Cast
  6. Select your Chromecast Device to cast to the screen

A pop-up may appear asking if you want to ‘optimize’. This may help prevent the lagging/skipping that can sometimes happen when casting.

Chromecast from Android/Pixel phone

  1. Open the Google Home app
  2. Tap the “Cast My Screen” button and select your device
  3. Go back to your web browser and open the Online Dojo

Chromecast from iPhone

  1. Make sure your Chromecast device is plugged in and connected to the same network as your computer
  2. Download the free “Web Video Cast” app from the App Store
  3. Open the app and tap the cast button to select your device
  4. Once connected, tap the Screen Cast button to mirror to your TV
  5. Go back to your web browser and open the Online Dojo
Please note, these instructions are accurate as at 19/7/21 and the app developers may change this software at any time. If these instructions don't work for you, please notify us so we can find an alternative solution.
